A parklet is a joint project between the City of Vancouver and a business. They are accessible, public spaces for everyone to enjoy. Built into the street, they take over a couple of parking spaces, but bring interest, seating and focus to the business involved, as well as offering a space for the local community to utilize.

Both of these are built with durablity and long term maintenance in mind. The deck surfaces are a hard wearing composite material to resist water damage and make cleaning easier.

The Main St. parklet features Accoya on all the planters and tabletop and seating surfaces, and has a fun raised grassy area with lawnchairs and an umbrella comfort on those hot days.

The Fraserhood Parklet features a more open plan to allow for flexible use of the space for community and has been clad in western red cedar for it’s natural beauty and resistance to water and decay.
